Many weekends during my youth were spent in the public library. Whether it was a book about spices, a children's classic like Charlotte's Web or a book about how to study better, I never left the H___ K____ Public Library without something to read.
As I recently finished reading the last pages of Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre, I couldn't help but reflect on the books I've read in my lifetime and the many I have yet to read. This blog was created mostly as a way for me to catalog the novels, children's literature, short stories and non-fiction works that have inspired me in some way. I also hope to prove, to myself at least, that there are still many book lovers out there.
I welcome your comments.

What's The Motivation?

I did not find a love for books until my adulthood. I visited the library in my youth as well, but never read a thing. I'm thankful that two of my girls loved books as children and now all three read. I have a huge appreciation for books, but do not read as often as I would like to. Somehow this computer gets in the way.
I'm really proud of you for your efforts to keep your love of literature alive.
I love books too - but rarely feel like I have the time to read them. I had to push myself to finish Atwood's Thirteenth Tale and Corrigan's The Poet of Loch Ness before Colin was born. They were both good by the way.
I'm a "maniac reader" and my children are also. I quess when you grow up with your mom's face in a book and trips to the library every week, you start to copy her. I usually have several books going at the same time. I don't think there's any one type I enjoy. I just order all and anything from the libary. I've got a great public library and have managed to always have lived in a comunity with a great library. I usually have anywhere from 30 to 50 books on my reserve list, and about 20-30 please order for me list. I wish I kept a log of all the books i've read, but alas...I haven't.
hey - I just made a list of all the books I have read... that's so funny. I don't know how to make another blog - I only got the one I have as a result of Karen...
Love it!
I'm a book lover myself. I love to read. It is just hard to find time to do so.
We love to spend time reading with the kids too. I think it is so important.
